Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie

Here's a great lactose free shake I make for my wife. I say it's lactose free because it has no milk, but it does have yogurt. I use Activia. My wife has found that the Activia does not cause the same problems other milk products do.

Put the following items into your blender in this order:
1 cup of frozen strawberries
3/4 cup of frozen pineapple chunks
1/2 cup of plain or vanilla Activia yogurt
1/2 cup of rice milk
1 scoop of egg protein (vanilla or unflavored) we use Jay Robb's
some honey to taste

Wait... don't leave. When you blend, start at stir and move to liquify. Don't start on high. Pro smoothie machines do just that; go from slow to fast. It makes less mess, wastes less, and blends smoother AND faster with less air.

Enjoy.

How to Get Exchange Email on Your iPhone

For me, buying an iPhone was a productivity choice. I wanted to be more productive when I was out of the office or just off hours. I needed to be able to discern when something needed my immediate attention and when it could wait until Monday; and I didn’t want to have to remote in to do it.

Fortunately, we are all email in my industry, so I just needed to get my Exchange (Outlook) email on my iPhone. The Exchange Server folks weren’t about to give me POP or IMAP access to Exchange, so I had to come up with another solution.

So, I did something really easy. Here’s the bad news first: if you can NOT leave your workstation on, logged in and Outlook running, this solution is not for you.

I continue:

  • To get your IMAP Account Setup in Outlook follow these instructions from GMail: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77661 If you use Yahoo! or someone else, research their instructions.

  • Now you need to add a folder. To do so, you can create the new label at Gmail or create a new folder and map it in GMail thusly:

    • Right click on the Gmail main folder and choose New Folder:

    • After typing something like “work mail” press ok

  • Now click on the main Exchange folder. Then create a rule. Don’t create this rule while on the Gmail folder as that would not be smart. Go to Tools Rules and Alerts

    • Click the New Rule button.

    • When the rule wizard comes up, choose to start from a blank rule.

    • You will be checking messages when the arrive so press next

    • Press next again and press OK on the warning that you will be checking every message that arrives. Duh, that’s why we’re doing this.

    • Then, for the action, chose to Copy to a specified folder. Click the word “specified” and a folder navigator will open. Scroll to the Gmail main folder and then expand and locate your new folder. Select and press OK.

    • Then press next again.

    • There are no exceptions so press next again.

    • Give the rule a name and press finish. You will receive an alert that this is a client-side rule. Say ok and have a nice day.

You will likely have to reboot or at least logoff and logon to get Outlook to exit and reload the rule; this depends on Outlook version.

If the rule still isn’t running, go back to Tools Rules and Alerts and make sure you checked it to be active.

Leave Outlook running and lock your workstation instead of logging out at the end of the day.

Enjoy!
